Tender hands / Des mains tendres
A new process
Following the carte blanche offered by Marie-Christine Bouhours and Fabienne Billioud to take over the Espace Commines, Juliette June developed a new creative process at the crossroads of structure and improvisation. Painted on the floor, the works explore a new technique inspired by Helen Frankenthaler's soak-stain painting process.
A series of paintings
From this exploration emerged four bodily states, expressed across canvas, paper and wood, and embodied in four colours: mauve for tenderness, green for wildness, yellow for light, and vermilion for the unknown.
An exhibition
The series Tender Hands was presented as part of the group exhibition The Time of Shared Dreams at Espace Commines in April 2026, bringing together six artists whose creative practices were inspired by meditation.
A performance
On 11 April 2026 at 5:00 pm, the performance Tender Hands brought together live painting, poetry and music. Juliette June revealed her creative process in dialogue with the musicians of Zafiro Añejo.

A book
At the end of the project, a book was created to bring together the artworks, texts, and traces of this artistic journey.

Three risographs
A risograph is not a reproduction, although it can be created from an existing artwork. This is the case with the three risographs The Kiss, Entwined, and Our Great Hands. The artist deliberately played with the contours of the bodies from her drawings and paintings.
